New Chicken Coup (Sept. 2008)

Details.
Dismantled original structure, which had come to the end of its usable life. The new objectives were to provide a sealed building for increased protection from the weather with ample natural light, ventilation, separate large containment areas within, protection from predators, provide electricity, correct drainage, and create larger egg laying room and perching area. The height of the new coup was determined by an existing roof line. We utilized used windows salvaged from a fire. The structural lumber and siding were milled from Douglas Fir here on the farm. |
